Telegraph Cove B.C. British Columbia Kayaking & Information
Getting to Telegraph Cove
If you’re not traveling to Telegraph Cove with Kit and Company, then this is how you can get there independently from Vancouver. Telegraph Cove is located in the north part of Vancouver Island, a four to five hour or 335 km. drive from the Nanaimo Ferry Terminal. Take the ferry to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay. Ferries run throughout the day and take about an hour and a half. Once on Vancouver Island, take the Inland Island Highway north until it connects with the Island Highway. You will continue north through Campbell River and Sayward. From Port Hardy, take the Island Highway south to the Telegraph Cove turnoff. You can also fly into Victoria and avoid taking the ferry from mainland British Columbia. The population of Telegraph Cove is tiny, around 15, but there are a few campgrounds and the Alder Bay Resort nearby. There is also an abundance of places to stay in Campbell River for those arriving early.
