Club Malibu Camp at Princess Louisa and Jervis Inlet
Malibu Camp
At the intersection of Jervis and Princess Louisa Inlet’s is the Malibu Camp. Seeing this impressive camp is an indicator that you are near the entrance to the inlet and to prepare for Malibu Rapids. This camp has been a presence at the inlet for seventy years now and has a little history itself. It was originally built by Thomas Hamilton, the inventor of the pitch propeller, as a retreat for the rich and famous. In the late thirties and early forties the camp has its success but this did not last. In 1954, a non-denominational Christian organization called Young Life International acquired Malibu Camp and turned it into a summer camp for children. This camp is still owned by Young Life International today and operates yearly.
