Bunsby Islands Kayak Touring and Information
Bunsby Islands
Days can be spent exploring the small islands and different inlets that make up the Kyuquot Sound but some paddlers keep their sights focused on what is beyond the Kyuquot Sound. They do this for good reason, as the Checleseht Bay is just a short paddle, through the open ocean, to the north. Here is where you will find great campsites and paddling in the Bunsby Islands.
The Bunsby Islands promise an abundance of wildlife and if you are lucky enough to be here on clear summer days, you will enjoy easy paddling from island to island through emerald and turquoise waters. These islands have little land protecting them from the elements out on the Pacific and you can get caught in some nasty weather here but that should not deter any curious paddlers because no matter what Mother Nature is handing down in terms of weather, these islands are worth a paddle.
