The 2008 Summer Solstice Trip in Tofino this year was a surprising success despite the gloomy weather forecast and cancellations.

We actually had an almost full house of some of the best committed Kayakers this side of the coast and a predominantly sunny sky that opened up on Saturday to burn our mid-day skins when we all finally made it to Whaler Island. On the trip back from Whaler Island, some Kayakers on the trip landed back on the beach with a whole new sense of excitement for kayaking as the wind picked up and surfed us all right into shore at about 2 5 knots!
